The AES facility is a state-of-the-art energy storage facility utilizing advanced technology batteries and control systems to enhance the Southern California Edison electrical grid reliability and flexibility. Sargent Electric performed as the Prime Electrical contractor responsible for the 230kV to 34.5kV substation, the 34.5kV feeder circuits, the BESS Building’s electrical infrastructure, and the 100MW 4 Hour BESS. The project was completed on time with COD achieved in December of 2021. The project was awarded the prestigious US Edison Award, the highest honor given in the electric power industry.
